A Special Addition to Ticket Readers at
ANA’s Domestic Departure Gates
In Response to Passenger Feedback
If you’ve flown domestically in Japan on ANA, you may have noticed a unique addition to the automatic ticket readers.
When entering ANA’s departure gate, passengers are asked to touch a reader with their ANA Mileage Club card with an IC chip, or any other form that shows a 2D barcode for their ticket.

Previously, it was not always obvious where the scanner was. To help passengers with a smoother boarding process, we tried putting stickers with designs to frame the scanner at some airports.
After getting positive customer feedback, the decision was made to add stickers to machines at all airports around the country. The sticker design is different from airport to airport, reflecting the airport or region’s unique characteristics.

Since ANA has domestic services in 49 cities around Japan, there are 49 different sticker designs.
Next time you take a domestic flight, be sure to check out the sticker when scanning your card or ticket!
