ANA’s 2017 Vote for Best In-flight Meal

The annual ANA Vote for Best In-flight Meal was held for the fifth time this year!

Starting in December, two Japanese-style meals and two Western-style meals that received the most votes via social media will be served in Premium Economy and Economy Class on international flights departing from Japan.

This time, the most popular menus from 2013 to 2016 as well as new creations for a total of eight meals, were polled during a one-month period between July 4 and August 6.

Also during this time, 37 men and women over the age of 18 were selected by lottery to attend a taste test of the eight meals at the Kawasaki facility of ANAC (ANA Catering Service Co., Ltd.)

From nearly 50,000 votes that were cast, here are the winning meals!

Japanese Meals

First Place: Beef Sukiyaki Bowl

Second Place: Creamy Una-Tama Eel & Egg Bowl

Western-style Meals

First Place: Beef Stew and Rice Omelet

Second Place: Hashed Beef Simmered in Red Wine
