Japan Debuts Airbus A321neo
ANA added a new model to its fleet.
On September 8th, 2017, Japan’s first Airbus A321neo landed at Haneda Airport and operated its inaugural flight on September 12th, as ANA’s newest member.
The “neo” stands for “new engine option.”
By implementing Sharklet wingtips and a new engine option, A321neo flies with 15% better fuel efficiency compared to its predecessor, A321ceo (current engine option).
Eight of the 194 seat configuration in the A321neo are Premium Class, which features power-adjustable seats, and is equipped with 12-inch personal seat monitors. It also boasts Japan’s most spacious seat pitch of approximately 127cm, creating a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere.
Economy class seats are furnished with 10-inch personal seat monitors, where passengers can enjoy nearly 60 titles of various TV shows, as well as news reports and sports channels via “ANA SKY LIVE TV Service.” Some free content is available on personal electronic devices while utilizing the “ANA Wi-fi Service.” Seats are also equipped with USB ports and power outlets.
The inaugural route was from Haneda to Kumamoto on ANA’s flight 641. On September 12th, an event was held at the boarding gate before its departure, and passengers were gifted A321neo special edition postcards and boarding certificates. There was also an ANA fan who brought in a specialty cake and a surprise gift. ANA’s flight 641 successfully departed with every seat filled, and made its way to Kumamoto.
A321neo will mainly fly domestically, to and from Haneda Airport.
We look forward to serving you on your next flight!
