The Ishitani Residence in Tottori Prefecture is a traditional Japanese former family home that is registered as an Important Cultural Property of Japan.

Rooms with historical interiors and a beautiful garden where visitors can enjoy scenery reflecting the four seasons are among the highlights of the house.

Enveloped in a calm silence, the garden here appears frozen in time and taking in the view is a wonderfully soothing experience.

Located in Yamaguchi Prefecture, in the heart of Iwakuni City, is the village of Waraku no Sato which sits at an altitude of 300m.

The village is a base for shower climbing, a kind of canyoning, during which visitors navigate mountain streams by climbing, scrambling, sliding and plunging through the waters, all the while bathing in the negative ions of the surrounding nature as they do so.

The shower climbing experience here often ends with a waterfall climb, allowing visitors to really feel the great outdoors with their whole body!

This memorial museum celebrates the life and works of Shuhei Fujisawa, a Naoki Prize-winning author who was born in Tsuruoka City.

Fujisawa's works detail historical facts and depict the lives of people in the past, including feudal retainers and people living in downtown Edo (now Tokyo).
