Mileage Registration

How Miles are Accrued

The basic sector mileage is multiplied by the accrual rate for the relevant booking class to calculate the amount of mileage that will be earned from an international flight.

Miles Earned from International Flight = Basic Sector Mileage x Accrual Rate for the Booking Class

When using a codeshare flight operated by an ANA partner airline, mileage accrual rates may differ and there may also be cases when mileage will not be accrued.

  • Use our convenient Mileage Calculator to estimate the number of miles and ANA Premium Points that you can earn from a flight.
  • Check your accumulated miles anytime by logging into your ANA Mileage Club Account.

  • The booking classes listed above are for flights departing from Japan and are current as of December 2018. This information is subject to change without notice.
  • The following booking classes are not eligible for mileage accrual: O, I, R, X.
  • Customers using upgrade awards are excluded.

Mileage Accrual Eligibility

  • Only flights taken by the AMC member are eligible for mileage accrual.
  • Mileage accrual rates for child fares are based on the booking class of the ticket (same policy as adult fares).
  • For upgrades that do not involve payment of any fare differences (including ANA Upgrade Awards), mileage accrual is calculated according to the booking class of the originally purchased ticket. This does not apply to some airlines.
  • Even for upgrades that involve payment of fare differences, mileage accrual may still be calculated according to the class of the originally purchased ticket.
  • For downgrades, mileage accrual is calculated according to the travel class that is actually used.
  • Only ANA-operated charter flights are eligible for mileage accrual. For such flights, the basic sector mileage accrual rate is 50% (accrual rate for Booking class P is 70%).
  • Bonus miles are only accrued if the miles for the eligible flight have been registered to AMC.
  • Even if a customer reserves and uses multiple seats (to accommodate carry-on baggage, for example), mileage will only be accrued for one seat.

These tickets are not eligible for mileage accrual:

  • Complimentary tickets
  • Award tickets
  • Special discount tickets

Please also see Cases When Miles Can or Cannot Be Earned.

How to Accrue Miles

  • Make a reservation using your 10-digit AMC membership number. You can also register your AMC membership number on the departure date at self-service check-in machines* or at check-in counters.
  • After the flight, retain the documents required for retroactive mileage registration until you have confirmed that the mileage has been credited to your account.
  • The mileage will be credited to your account, two to three days after the departure date.
    • For codeshare flights operated with ANA flight numbers by ANA partner airlines, it may take up to a month until the accrued miles are reflected in your account.
  • Note: Self-service check-in machine services are not available to customers who are using codeshare flights operated with ANA flight numbers by ANA partner airlines as well as customers who are using Narita-Mumbai flights.

Registering Mileage After Check-In Procedures:

Complete registration procedures at the check-in counter.

Registering Mileage When Connecting to Another Flight:

Complete registration procedures at the check-in counter at the connecting airport.

Mileage Charts

See below for the mileage accrual rate for Japan domestic flights issued by an international ticket. Note: Mileage accrual rates vary according to the booking class—the booking class is shown on your e-ticket itinerary.

Boarding on/after October 1st, 2018

Booking class (Domestic sectors) Mileage Accrual Rate
F,A 150%
Y,B,M 100%
U,H,Q 70%
V,W,S 50%
L,K 30%

The mileage charts indicate the specified number of miles for each sector. Basic sector mileage is based on the Ticketed Point Mileage (TPM) that is published by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) every autumn and is applicable during the following periods.

Basic Sector Mileage is equal to the miles shown on "100%" column in all mileage charts.

For Mileage Accrual: Fights used from January 1 to December 31

For Awards: Tickets issued from January 1 to December 31

The number of miles that is valid on the departure date will apply for mileage accrual. If the route's sector mileage changes on January 1, the number of miles that was indicated at the time of the reservation and the actual number of accrued miles may differ.

International Codeshare Flight Mileage Accrual

If a codeshare flight is operated with the aircraft and crew of another airline (which has a mileage agreement with ANA) and a customer reserves and uses said codeshare flight under the ANA flight number, the codeshare flight will be counted as a flight that is operated by the ANA partner airline for mileage accrual purposes (some exceptions apply).

However, if the codeshare flight is operated under a codeshare agreement between the ANA partner airline and another airline, said flight may not be eligible for mileage accrual. Accrued miles differ depending on the airline.

Note:

  • Flights are indicated with the flight number of the operating airline in the Members-only Features and mileage statements.
  • Bonus miles are only indicated as accrued in the Members-only Features and mileage statements if the flight is an ANA Group (NH) flight that is eligible for mileage accrual.

Please confirm the list of partner airlines. Some flights may currently be suspended or may only be operated during certain seasons. Please check the timetables for ANA domestic and international flights for details.

  • Mileage will not be accrued if the flight is not actually used (including cases involving delays and cancelations).
  • Duplicate mileage registration with partner airline frequent flyer programs is not allowed.
  • If upgrades or changes were made to reserved flights at the airport on the day of departure, mileage accrual may not be automatically processed. Always keep your itinerary and boarding documents until you have confirmed mileage.
  • Basic sector mileage is based on the Ticketed Point Mileage (TPM) that is published by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) every autumn. This published TPM is applicable to the subsequent 1-year period starting from January 1.
