Immigration

From December 15, 2022, the FMM (commonly known as "Immigration/Tourist Card") has been completely abolished and is no longer a requirement for passengers. Therefore, please present only your passport when entering the country. For the latest information, please refer to the Mexican government's website.

Customs

If you have any items to declare at Customs, please advise the Customs officer, submit a Customs Declaration Form and have your baggage inspected.

Check-In
Baggage Checks

Due to requirements set forth by the Federal Authorities of Mexico, passengers departing from Benito Juarez International Airport (MEX) on international flights may be subject to random baggage screening.

Note: ANA will not be liable for any damage (including damage to locks) or confiscation of items resulting from federal authority inspections.

If through check-in of your baggage has been finished in the departure airport:

  • Passengers whose baggage has been transported from Flight NH180 to an international flight with through check-in do not need to pass through customs or pick up their baggage.

If through check-in of your baggage has not been finished in the departure airport:

Please pick up your baggage—then proceed to Arrival Lobby and go to Terminal 2 or Departure floor.

Taxi

  • Platform: From one of the official taxi stops in each terminal
  • Time required: 30 to 50 min. (depending on the destination)
  • Fare: From M$245, to Zocalo and Zona Rosa, From M$290, to Polanco (4-person sedan)
  • Operating hours: 24 hours a day

Bus (Note that there may be fewer running due to COVID-19.)

Metrobús Línea 4

MEX → Zocalo, Zona Rosa, and other downtown areas

  • Platform: From one of the stops at each terminal
  • Time required: 50 to 70 min. to Zocalo, including connections, and 60 to 80 min. to Zona Rosa
  • Fare: M$30 (separate fee of M$10 for a prepaid card)
  • Operating hours: 4:30 to 0:15 (following day) (15 to 20 minutes intervals)

Subway (Note that there may be fewer running due to COVID-19.)

Metro Línea 5

MEX → Zocalo, Zona Rosa, and other downtown areas

  • Platform: From the Terminal Area Station that is a roughly 3 min. walk from the Terminal 1 exit
  • Time required: 30 to 40 min. to Zocalo, including connections, and 35 to 45 min. to Zona Rosa
  • Fare: M$5 (flat fare)
  • Operating hours: Weekdays: 5:00 to 24:00, Sat.: 6:00 to 24:00, Sun./Holidays: 7:00 to 24:00 (5 to 10 minutes intervals)

Important points for getting to the airport

For a taxi, use a ticket-based taxi from the booth inside the airport. Also, people sometimes experience theft or other problems when traveling by bus or subway, so you must be careful when taking large baggage.
