Boarding Procedures

STEP 1 Check-in

Customers who have already checked in online

No check-in is required at the airport. *1 Please bring a mobile device that can display a "mobile boarding pass" with a two-dimensional bar code at the airport on the day of your flight, or a boarding pass and travel documents printed at home.

  • *1.
Depending on the departure airport, you may need to go to the baggage counter.
Online Check-in

Checking in online in advance allows you to save time by not having to line up at the check-in counter. Click here to learn more about online check-in.

Through Check-in

Through check-in enables passengers with itineraries containing transit points to complete boarding procedures and check in baggage at the departure airport for multiple sectors up to their final destination. As a general rule, through check-in is only available when the following 4 conditions are met.

  1. The minimum connecting time is ensured.
  2. The reservation for the connecting flight is confirmed.
  3. The operating carrier for the connecting flight is a partner airline for through check-in.
  4. Your entire itinerary is shown on a single flight ticket.
  • Please note that issuing boarding passes for connecting flights may not be available due to limitations of the partner airlines' system or connecting airport. Through check-in service may not be available at some airports.
  • Even if your entire itinerary is not shown on a single flight ticket, you will still be able to use through check-in if you meet all of the following conditions.
    1. You present a flight ticket or another form of documentation showing your free baggage allowance.
    2. The baggage you intend to check in for your itinerary containing connecting flights falls within the free baggage allowance in terms of weight, size and quantity.
      • However, you will not be able to use through check-in if it is not available with the airline operating the flight from your connecting airport.

Please note that through check-in may not be available when your departing flight is operated by another airline.

Check-in at the Airport

Please make sure to have your travel documents, international ticket or customer copy of your e-ticket required for check-in.
Check-in may be done at the counter or at a self-service kiosk.

  • * The check-in deadline is one hour before the departure time.
  • * At check-in, airport staff will check the required documents such as passport, visa, ID card, etc., so please be sure you have the required documents.
Check-in at the Airport Counter

Customers who have not checked in online must check in for their flight at the airport. If you use the check-in counter, ANA airport staff will check your passport and travel documents and issue a printed boarding pass. Click here for more information on airport counter check-in.
