Autopolis Circuit
Surrounded by magnificent nature, “Autopolis” is well loved as Kyushu’s only international racing circuit. The main course, with a total length of 4,674 meters, is one of the largest in the country. It is a space for all to see, participate in, and enjoy, used for everything from big races such as the Super GT, Super Formula, Super Endurance, and All Japan Road Race Championship, to sports drives for people who want to enjoy driving the circuit, and participatory events such as pushbike races and marathons.
The circuit offers circuit driving experience programs for two-wheel and four-wheel-drive vehicles and skills improvement schools. By participating in the program that best suits you, you can increase your basic knowledge of safe driving and raise your driving skills to the circuit driving level! Racing cars are not the only vehicles to drive on this circuit. The circuit also holds the "Chari-1 Grand Prix", in which mamachari, or regular pushbikes, tear around the circuit in an endurance race, the "Relay Marathon in Autopolis" endurance marathon, and other events that families and friends can form teams to participate in and enjoy.
SPA Naoiri, located in Naoirimachi in Taketa City in Oita Prefecture’s southwest, surrounded by the nature of Mount Kuju 460 meters above sea level, is a motorcycle-only, anti-clockwise circuit that is 1,430 meters long. It has nine corners and a difference in elevation of 21.2 meters between the lowest and highest sections of the course.
Nagayu Onsen, whose hot spring waters have the highest concentration of carbon dioxide gas of any hot spring in Japan, is nearby. It is this proximity that has given the racing circuit its name, SPA.
The name was also given to share in the glory of Belgium’s world-class racing course, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.
