Extra Bags on ANA International Flights

Use miles to pay excess baggage charges on ANA international flights and effectively increase your free baggage allowance.

Eligible Customers

Only the primary ANA Mileage Club Member and those who the primary member has registered as award users can use awards.

Eligible Itineraries & Airports

  • Only itineraries with ANA-operated flights that were reserved under ANA flight numbers.
  • Connections are allowed only when the connecting flights are ANA-operated flights and were reserved under ANA flight numbers.
  • Flights operated by other airlines and ANA-operated flights that were reserved under another airline's flight number are not eligible.
  • If an itinerary includes international flight connections, domestic sectors that are subject to international baggage rules will also be eligible.
  • These rules apply to all airports served by ANA-operated flights.

Within Japan 1,000 miles

Allowable Weight Is Exceeded: Weight between 70 and 92 pounds (32-45 kg)

Allowable Linear Dimensions Exceeded: between 62 and 115 inches (158-292 cm)

Procedures

After making a reservation for an ANA-operated flight, check in your baggage at the check-in counter or baggage drop-off counter on the day of departure. Just present your ANA Mileage Club card and inform the counter staff that you wish to use miles toward excess baggage charges.

Terms & Conditions

  • Registered award users who are not traveling with the primary member are required to provide the name and 10-digit AMC membership number of the primary member on the day of departure.
  • Miles and cash (or credit card) cannot be used together to pay excess baggage charges.
  • After miles have been used for excess baggage charges, the redemption cannot be canceled and miles cannot be refunded back to the mileage account.
  • Customers using ANA Mileage Club Family Account Service are not eligible.
  • Receipts are not issued for items paid with miles.
