The Secure Flight Program is currently being implemented for flights booked from October 31, 2009 onwards by request of the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
What is the Secure Flight Program?
The Secure Flight Program is a scheme intended to increase security for flights departing from, and arriving in, the United States as well as flights passing over U.S. airspace designated by the Transportation Security Administration, whereby the TSA cross-references the information of airline passengers with a watch list at the time of booking.As a result of the implementation of this program, all airlines are required to ask for passenger information mandated by the program at the time of booking and register said information at least 72 hours* prior to departure.
Please be advised tickets may not be issued and furthermore passengers may be denied boarding if the required information has not been received at least 72 hours prior to departure, or at the time of ticketing, whichever comes first.
Passengers who fail to register for the Secure Flight Program may have their reservation canceled.
- * For reservations made within 72 hours of flight departure, registration must be performed at the time of booking.
Information Which Will Be Requested of Passengers at Booking
- Full Name (the first and last name registered on the passenger's passport)
- Date of Birth (according to the Western calendar)
- Gender
- Redress Number (applicable only to those who have such a number)*1
- Known Traveler Number (applicable only to those who have such a number)*2

*1.What is a Redress Number?
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) grants Redress Numbers as a means of protecting passengers who may be incorrectly identified as being on a watch list due to various reasons such as sharing a first and last name with a suspected terrorist.
Passengers will have to apply to the TRIP (Traveler Redress Inquiry Program) to obtain a Redress Number. -
*2.What is a Known Traveler Number?
A Known Traveler Number is a PASS ID provided to members of trusted traveler programs such the Global Entry Program. Those in possession of this ID are eligible for TSA PreCheck®, the TSA's expedited screening program.

How to Register for the Secure Flight Program
- Once you have made your reservation, please register from the ANA Website Reservation Details Confirmation Screen.
- If you are unable to register via ANA Website, or you have questions regarding the registration process, please contact ANA via telephone.
- * If you have already booked via ANA Website, your information will be sent to the U.S. government automatically, so there is no need to re-register.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requires you to provide your full name, date of birth, and gender for the purpose of watch list screening, under the authority of 49 U.S.C. section 114, the intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 and 49 C.F.R parts 1540 and 1560. You may also provide your Redress Number, if available. Failure to provide your full name, date of birth, and gender may result in denial of transport or denial of authority to enter the boarding area. TSA may share information you provide with law enforcement or intelligence agencies or others under its published system of records notice.
