Fireworks and firecrackers are not permitted to be checked in or carried on board regardless of their amount.
This page contains information on the restrictions in place for all routes. The items listed here can be placed inside carry-on baggage or checked baggage as long as certain conditions are met.
Please take care to ensure that you do not leave lighters or other such items in the cabin.
Items carried on the person used for smoking.
According to IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, for cosmetics (hairsprays or antiperspirant sprays), medicine/medicinal products (sterilization/disinfection sprays or cooling sprays), and sprays for sporting equipment and daily use (excluding those containing flammable and poisonous gases), 2 kg or 2 liters per person are permitted to be checked in or carried on board in containers of up to 0.5 kg or 0.5 liters.
However, even if the liquid item is within the carry-on limits permitted by the regulations, it may not be possible to bring it on board depending on restrictions imposed on the carry-on of liquids for international flights. For further details, please see the information on carry-on baggage restrictions.
Lithium battery is the generic term for lithium-metal batteries and lithium ion batteries.
Handling differs depending to the watt-hour rating (Wh).
If the watt-hour rating (Wh) is not indicated, please use the following formula to confirm it.
Watt-hour rating (Wh) = rated capacity (Ah) × rated voltage (V)
etc.
* Electric vehicles (hoverboards, electric skateboards, self-balancing scooters, etc.) are not permitted to be checked in or carried on board due to safety reasons.
Lithium-metal batteries containing no more than 2 g of lithium and lithium ion batteries with a watt-hour rating of no more than 160 Wh can be checked in or carried on board
(Notes)
Please take the measures below for checking in electronic devices containing lithium batteries as checked baggage.
Spare batteries cannot be transported on their own as they must be transported together with the actual electronic device.
Lithium-metal batteries containing no more than 2 g of lithium and lithium ion batteries with a watt-hour rating of no more than 100 Wh can be carried on board. They are not permitted to be checked in.
Up to two lithium ion batteries with a watt-hour rating exceeding 100 Wh but of no more than 160 Wh can be carried on board. They are not permitted to be checked in.
* Battery chargers with a lithium ion battery for cell phones are handled as spare batteries.
Large-sized camera equipment, electrically driven robots, etc.
Lithium-metal batteries containing more than 2 g of lithium and lithium ion batteries with a watt-hour rating exceeding 160 Wh are not permitted to be checked in or carried on board.
Spare batteries cannot be transported on their own as they must be transported together with the actual electronic device.
Lithium-metal batteries containing more than 2 g of lithium and lithium ion batteries with a watt-hour rating exceeding 160 Wh are not permitted to be checked in or carried on board.
Please take measures such as putting the batteries in their original retail packaging or insulating the terminals (taping over exposed terminals or placing each battery in a separate plastic bag or protective pouch).
For safety reasons, passengers with spare batteries other than lithium-metal batteries and lithium ion batteries (such as nickel-metal hydride, nickel-cadmium, and alkaline manganese batteries) should take the necessary steps to prevent them from short circuiting before taking them on board the aircraft.
Items with a non-removable lithium battery are not permitted to be checked in or carried on board.
Smart baggage with a removable lithium battery can be checked in and carried on board.
The removed lithium battery should be carried on board. If you would like to carry smart baggage on board, please confirm the size and weight restrictions for carry-on baggage.
It will be possible to check in and carry on board lithium-metal batteries with a lithium content of 0.3 g or less and lithium-ion batteries with a watt-hour rating of 2.7 Wh or less. (This also includes non-removable lithium batteries.)
What is smart baggage?
Smart baggage refers to baggage containing integrated batteries, which allow for the charging of electronic devices and other functions.
The following is applicable only if the electric wheelchair will be transported by the passenger intending to use it as a walking aid.
Please note that spare batteries cannot be transported on their own as they must be transported together with the actual electric wheelchair.
Up to two batteries per person with a watt-hour rating (Wh) of no more than 160 Wh are allowed to be carried on board. They are not permitted to be checked in.
Up to one battery per person with a watt-hour rating (Wh) exceeding 160 Wh but of no more than 300 Wh is allowed to be carried on board. It is not permitted to be checked in.
Batteries with a watt-hour rating (Wh) exceeding 300 Wh are not permitted to be checked in or carried on board.
* Batteries installed in the main wheelchair body are not included in the spare batteries.
When removing batteries, package them before boarding so that they will be protected against any impact.
Up to two battery per person can be checked in. It is not permitted to carry them on board.
* Although quantity restrictions are not stipulated in the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's standards, ANA has implemented its own restrictions in accordance with the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.
Up to one battery per person can be checked in. It is not permitted to carry them on board.
Spare batteries cannot be checked in or carried on board.
Out of consideration for other passengers, the use of electronic cigarettes, electronic pipes, electronic cigarettes, personal vaporizers, electronic nicotine delivery devices, and other smoking devices that do not use fire (including those that do not emit smoke) is also prohibited on board ANA Group-operated flights. In addition, the charging of electronic cigarettes and their spare batteries is also prohibited.
Permitted to be checked in or carried on board.
Gas hair curling irons and hair curlers filled with hydrocarbon gas, with a safety cover securely fixed to the heat source, can be checked in or carried on board.
If the battery is removed from the device or the device is equipped with a function such as a flight mode that has the same function, and the appropriate settings are made, it can be carried in or checked in.
