Passengers planning to bring a car seat onboard for use in-flight must assure that the car seat meets one of the certification requirements outlined here.

On the top of the mark is the ECE Regulation No. & Revision Series No.
Below the number is the word Universal followed by the weight range, Country code Serial No. and Product name.
On the top are the Weight category, 3.4kg-19kg, and the Height category, 51cm-102cm.
Below is the statement that this child seat conforms to FMVSS standards, followed by the statement that the seat is to be only used in motor vehicles or aircraft.
“FAA APPROVED IN ACCORDANCE WITH” label should be affixed to CARES child seats.
The child seat must be secured with the seat belt at all times. If the device cannot be secured, it cannot be used onboard even if it meets other standards.
In addition, with the exception of CARES, the types listed here are unacceptable.
