Kinosaki Onsen

Spa-hopping around the tasteful hot spring town dressed in yukata
Located in the northern part of Hyogo Prefecture, Kinosaki Onsen is one of the leading hot spring resorts in the Kansai region with a history of 1,400 years. Visitors can dress in traditional yukata (cotton kimono) and hop around various spas while strolling around the picturesque town that extends along a river. Baths in Japanese-style inns are called uchiyu (inner baths), and public baths without accommodation are called sotoyu (outer baths). Kinosaki Onsen is famous for its seven sotoyu facilities visitors can enjoy, including Kono-Yu and Mandara-Yu.
Enjoy Kinosaki Onsen to the fullest
Step off the train at Kinosaki Onsen Station, and you are immediately surrounded by the scenic hot spring atmosphere, with willows swaying above the Otani River that connects to the seven sotoyu baths. Once you change into a yukata at an inn, start spa hopping! Each sotoyu facility offers a unique bathing experience. Also, don't miss the delicious Kinosaki gourmet! With its proximity to the Sea of Japan, the Kinosaki area is blessed with fresh seafood. Crab dishes in the winter are especially famous. Swimming beaches in the summer as well as footbaths and drinkable spring water spots scattered throughout town are also the pleasures of Kinosaki.
