A collaboration of snowy mountains and field mustard blossoms in early spring

Against the backdrop of the magnificent Hira Mountains, the vast flower garden on the shore of Lake Biwa of Moriyama City in Shiga Prefecture creates a stunning scenery of the early-blooming field mustard blossoms in the winter and vibrant sunflowers in the summer. There is a pedestrian path and bicycle path along the lake shore perfect for walking or cycling.

Park filled with yellow flowers in both winter and summer

The 4,000-square-meter park is covered with yellow flowers, in the winter by early-blooming field mustards called Kanzaki Hanana, and by 12,000 sunflowers named Kids Smile in the summer. January to February are the best time to see field mustards, and sunflowers around July. Nearby are a large shopping center, bicycle rental shop, hotels and planetarium, so you can spend the whole day relaxing while enjoying the flowers. The scenery of the combination of the snowscape and field mustard blossoms in the winter is especially recommended.
