Various Procedures

In the event of a member's death, non-expired miles remaining in the member's mileage account can be inherited by their legal heir through the prescribed procedures.
Please refer to Article 21 of the ANA Mileage Club Terms and Conditions.

ANA Mileage Club Terms and Conditions

Application Period

Within 180 days after the date of death of the member (hereinafter, the "Decedent")

Applications can only be processed with all required documents collected within 180 days.

Inheritance Procedures

Download and print the Mileage Inheritance Application Form, Cancellation Form, and Mileage Inheritance Required Documents Checklist, and mail the forms together with the copies of two required documents.

If the Decedent is holder of an ANA Card with credit card function, please only mail the Mileage Inheritance Application Form after the cancellation procedures have been completed at the relevant credit card company.(Submission of the ANA Mileage Club Card Cancellation Form is not required.)

If the heir is not an ANA Mileage Club member, please complete the enrollment procedures and then fill out the application form.

A copy of a document confirming the death of the Decedent and the heir's relationship to the Decedent (one of the following)

- Transcript of family register
- Extract of family register
- Statutory inheritance information chart
A copy of a document that proves the identity of the heir (one of the following)
- Passport
- Driver's License
- Health Insurance Card
- Pension Book
- Juki-card (with photo)
- Certificate of Residence (issued within the last 6 months)
- City Residence Certificate
- Town Residence Certificate
- Village Residence Certificate
- Identification Booklet for Persons with Disabilities
- War Injury Certificate
- Rehabilitation Certificate
- Student ID (that has you as currently enrolled and/or is within its expiration date)
- Residence Card, Special Permanent Resident Certificate
- My Number card (front side only)

  Please submit the document with the following areas redacted so that the information cannot be identified (by overwriting with a permanent marker, etc.).
  
  Health insurance card: Code, number, insurer number (including QR code)
  Certificate of Residence: Identity number

  A paper My Number notification card cannot be used as an ID document.

Notice Regarding Mileage Inheritance Procedures

Please read the following precautions to ensure that mileage inheritance can be accurately performed.

Proxy applications will not be accepted.
*

Inheritance of divided mileage is not available.
*

Applications for mileage inheritance are accepted before the expiration date of the Decedent member's account. No applications are allowed after the miles have expired.

The expiration date of the inherited miles will be the following group's expiration date after the procedure is completed.

Group 1: End of month after 36 months
Group 2-3: End of month after 12 months
Group 4: End of month after 6 months

Please note that ANA will not be responsible for any problems, disputes, or other issues related to the inheritance after the mileage inheritance procedures have been completed.

Flight awards issued using the miles of the Decedent member cannot be refunded after the mileage inheritance procedures have been completed.

Inheritance of ANA Pay

In the event of an ANA Pay member's death, the member's remaining balance can be inherited by their legal heir through the prescribed procedures.

The mileage inheritance procedures will take approximately two weeks after the documents are mailed. Information will be delivered to you once the procedures are completed.

Miles subject to inheritance are miles that have not expired at the time when the inheritance procedures are completed.
