Nebuta Museum WA-RASSE

The Aomori Nebuta Festival boasts a history of more than 300 years and has been designated as an Important Intangible Cultural Property of Japan. A lot of people from all over the world gather at the festival that held from 2nd to 7th August every year, and on the 7th August as the last day, the nebutas are placed in boats and ferried around the sea as fireworks light up the night sky. Nebuta Museum WA-RASSE is a tourist facility where visitors can experience the charm of the Aomori Nebuta Festival throughout the year.

Nebuta Museum WA-RASSE offers a glipmse into the experience Nebuta throughout the year for those who can't make it to the festival itself and gain a sense of the festival’s history. You can enjoy views of the ocean as you feast upon dishes and purchase Nebuta goods and souvenirs of Aomori. Inside the museum is just like in the real night festival, not only big Nebuta but also small Nebuta that called Hands-on Nebuta gives you chance to feel what a real Nebuta is like.
