Sego-don Mura Village
The Hinatayama Sego-don Mura Village now has a new addition a Saigo Takamori-themed inn. Situated in the Hinatayama Onsen Village, the inn’s building is modeled after the Ryuho Residence Saigo used to stay at when on vacation in the village, thus making it a historically important facility as well. Complete with a beautiful Japanese garden, this facility provides a new great tourist attraction.
Kirishima played an important part in Saigo Takamori’s life. Hiatariyama Onsen Village is said to be the place Saigo visited more frequently than any other places in Kagoshima .
The facility also has a painting display area and a costume rental service that features Saigo Takamori- and Sakamoto Ryoma-themed costumes. Other attractions including a souvenir shop coupled with a restaurant dedicated to Kagoshima’s local delicacies and a footbath are planned to be added to the facility.
