Notice Regarding Security Checks Becoming Mandatory as Stipulated in Civil Aeronautics Act of Japan

Thank you very much for your continued and loyal support of ANA.

Dangerous goods such as weapons are prohibited from being carried on board aircraft under the Civil Aeronautics Act of Japan.
Furthermore, as of March 10, 2022, it has become mandatory to undergo a security check before boarding an aircraft in accordance with the amendment to the Civil Aeronautics Act.
Proceeding beyond the security checkpoint without undergoing a security check will be considered a violation of the Civil Aeronautics Act, and may result in imprisonment of up to 1 year or a fine of up to JPY 500,000. We therefore kindly ask you to follow the instructions of the security inspectors and other relevant personnel, and undergo a security check before boarding an aircraft.

In addition, by instruction of the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB), part of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), the enhanced security screening of outerwear (e.g., coats/jackets), shoes, and for explosives is being carried out prior to aircraft boarding from September 13, 2019 onward as part of efforts against aviation terrorism.
Security checks may take some time due to these enhanced screenings, so please ensure that you come to the airport in plenty of time.
