Prohibition of On-Board Smoking

Thank you very much for your continued and loyal support of ANA.

The prohibition of on-board smoking is stipulated in the conditions of carriage of airlines belonging to the Scheduled Airlines Association of Japan.
In light of the recent rapid uptake in the use of various types of smoking devices that do not incinerate tobacco, these airlines' conditions of carriage have been revised as of July 1 to clarify that the use of all smoking devices is prohibited on board.

As with the smoking of cigarettes, the use of smoking devices in aircraft lavatories is stipulated in Japan's Civil Aeronautics Act as an impediment to safety, and anyone doing so will be handed a prohibition order from the captain, the violation of which is punishable by a fine of up to JPY 500,000.

In line with this change to the conditions of carriage, the Scheduled Airlines Association of Japan has created a new poster regarding the prohibition of smoking on board.
Please see below for this poster.
