Noge Shopping District

Yokohama’s Noge District as a favorite sightseeing spot in the evening. Enjoy the night at a standing bar or pub crawl!
Noge District in Naka Ward, Yokohama is recommended for sightseeing in the evening. From the old taverns to the latest gourmet restaurants and all kinds of cafes, bars, and clubs gathered densely, you can feel the atmosphere just by strolling on the streets. Located in the heart of the Yokohama City and around 30 minutes by train from Tokyo, Noge has a very nostalgic atmosphere. With its beautiful harbor and ocean views, Yokohama is known as one of Japan’s leading tourism destinations, attracting large numbers of tourists. Noge District flourished as a black market after the war and now, while retaining shades of its past, it is lively and bustling every day as one of Yokohama’s best dining districts.
Only a few minutes’ walk from Sakuragicho Station and located on the opposite side of Yokohama’s commercial district Minato Mirai, Noge has all kinds of eating and drinking places, from the old taverns to the latest gourmet restaurants, in all kinds of places, such as Italian Restaurant, French Restaurant, bars, and snack bars, all gathered densely in this atmospheric night spot that is loved by locals. Just after the sun goes down, every shops will be full by customers. Yokohama has many bars and pubs that serve craft beer, with many of them concentrated in Noge District. Instead of just choosing one place and staying there, the recommended way to enjoy Noge is “bar hop” style, go to several shops to enjoy a little each different food, drink, and atmosphere.
If you walk from the entrance of the Noge District, where lots of dining places lined up, to the other end, you will suddenly a long and narrow building that follows an arc shape along the riverbank. This building is called the Miyakobashi Shotengai (shopping arcade). Inside the two-story building, about 60 standing bars and unique snack shops stand side by side. Miyakobashi Shotengai is a particularly moody part of atmospheric Noge. Enjoy the unique atmosphere by entering the shops that most takes your fancy (please note, some shops are for members-only), or even just by looking. Cherry blossoms adorn the riverbanks from late March to early April. Why do not you try to look for your favourite bar while enjoying the stunning cherry blossoms?
