Awa Odori Kaikan

Save to List

You can enjoy Tokushima’s world-class Awa Odori dance throughout the year in the biggest Awa Odori Hall. There is also a museum where you can learn the history of Awa Odori, and you can get Tokushima souvenirs at Tokushima Products Tourist Information Plaza, Arudeyo Tokushima. The fifth floor is Bizan Ropeway Sanroku Station.

Awa Odori Kaikan

This is a hall dedicated to viewing Awa Odori with 250 guest seats. The daytime dances are performed by the Awa Odori Kaikan’s own troupe. The night performance, in particular, is a must-see. 33 famous troupes take turns to perform each night, allowing guests to witness the lively Awa Odori dancing right before their very eyes. During the performance there is an Awa Odori experience segment, where any visitors can join in the dancing on the spur of the moment.

Arudeyo Tokushima

On the first floor of the Awa Odori Kaikan is a store run directly by the Tokushima Prefectural Products Association known as the Tokushima Products Tourist Information Plaza, Arudeyo Tokushima. This store has a many variant of Tokushima traditional crafts and specialties such as dyed indigo goods, sudachi citrus fruits, and sweets made from Naruto Kintoki sweet potatoes.

Bizan Ropeway

In the fifth floor is Bizan Ropeway Sanroku Station. Take a “stroll” through the air for around 6 minutes to the peak of Mount Bizan. From the peak, you can see the Tokushima plain and if the weather is good, you can even see as far as Awaji Island.
