Guidelines for Checking Items onto ANA Flights
Here, you will find the number, weight and size limits-plus excess baggage fees-for checked baggage on ANA flights.

Notes
- The total linear dimensions (length + width + height) of the item cannot be more than 62 inches (158 cm), including wheels and handle.
- Bags must be checked in at the check-in counter in the departure lobby or at a self-service machine.
- If your itinerary includes a flight by another airline, that airline's baggage rules may also apply. This includes codeshare flights-the joint operation of an aircraft by two or more carriers. Find out more about baggage on codeshare flights.
- The free baggage allowance written on the flight ticket will apply.
- When traveling in Premium Economy on Japan domestic sectors, the free baggage allowance for First Class will apply.
- When traveling in Economy Class, the allowance for Premium Economy and Economy Class will apply.

Bags for Young Children
If you're traveling with a child younger than 2 who does not occupy their own seat, one additional piece of baggage (all classes*1) can be checked in free of charge in addition to the free baggage allowance of the accompanying adult.
The size and weight of this additional piece should conform to the baggage rules which apply to the accompanying adult passenger.
- *1 As for Economy class with the fare which a free baggage allowance of "0 piece", child's checked baggage will also be limited to "0 piece" and will not be allowed to check in free of charge.
For children occupying a seat, the same handling as for adults will apply with regarding the weight, size and number of pieces of baggage that may be checked free of charge, as well as excess baggage charges for baggage in excess of the free baggage allowance.

Self-Service Baggage Drop Machines
Self-service machines are available at some airports. Passengers who have checked in and have a boarding pass can go directly to a self-service machine to check in their bags.
However, these customers should proceed to an ANA check-in counter for international flights:
- Those requiring boarding assistance
- Those required to pay excess baggage fees
- Those checking in dangerous, fragile, and non-standard baggage. Additionally, golf bags, skis or snowboards, surfboards, pets, strollers, umbrellas or tripods cannot be checked in at a self-service kiosk.
- * Depending on reservation and ticket details, some passengers may not be able to use this service. Consult ANA ground staff for details.
- * Due to system specifications, baggage tags may not be issued to the final destination if you are not checked in for the connecting flight. Please ask an ANA ground staff for details.
If you have printed a baggage tag on a self-service check-in machine, attach the tag to your bag, then check it in using the self-service baggage drop machine. (These guidelines may differ by airport.)
On top of items not permitted in checked baggage (see Restricted and Banned Items) fragile items and baggage of non-standard shape cannot be checked in using self-service machines.

For Passengers Using Wheelchairs
Since cabin storage space is limited, we ask that you check your wheelchair at the check-in counter and use ANA's wheelchair service. We will provide an attendant to assist you in moving to your seat, and our aircrafts are equipped with a cabin wheelchair for your convenience on board.
- Please let us know if you prefer to use your own wheelchair to/from the aircraft.
- We can accept one manually operated, foldable wheelchair per flight for all international routes.
- For details such as size and flight eligibility, please check with ANA airport staff. Please note that in some cases, due to limited storage space, we may not be able to accommodate storage of a wheelchair.

Electric Wheelchairs
If you use an electric wheelchair, please let us know the size, weight and type of battery when you book your flight. Also, please check in at least 120 minutes prior to your departure.
There are certain limitations by law for checking in/carrying on electronically powered wheelchairs equipped with lithium ion batteries.

More Checked Baggages Notes
- Shut down any electronic devices before you place them in checked baggage.
- Baggage is handled with considerable care, but if it happens to be damaged due to an inherent defect or property, ANA will not be liable. See Damaged, Lost and Left-Behind Items for more.
Furthermore, ANA will not be liable for any damage or loss that may occur, so please do not check fragile items such as watches and glass, electronic devices such as computers and cameras, valuables, or daily necessities such as medicine onto the airplane. - The checked bags of passengers arriving in or departing from the United States may be opened for inspection.

Excess Baggage Fees
Excess baggage fees will apply to items that do not meet Checked Baggage Guidelines.
- If more than one limit is exceeded, the sum of all fees applies.
- Applicable currency and fees may vary depending on where the baggage is checked in.
- * However, different fees may apply to itineraries which are subject to U.S. or Canadian laws and regulations.
The currency and fee applied vary depending on the itinerary, the sector on which baggage is checked in, as well as the airport at which the payment is made.
Currency details:
- When paying in the US: The USD amount applies.
- When paying in Canada: The CAD amount applies.
- When paying in Japan: The JPY amount applies.
- When paying in Germany, France, Belgium, Austria and Russia: The EUR amount applies.
- When paying in the UK: The EUR amount applies, converted to GBP
- When paying anywhere else: The USD amount applies, converted to the currency of the country of departure.
- * Use miles to pay excess baggage charges on ANA international flights.

Notes:
- Items that exceed 292 cm or weigh over 45 kg are not accepted as checked baggage.
- Depending on the route or aircraft type, baggage may not be accepted for check-in even if its total linear dimensions fall below 292 cm due to limited cargo space. See Checking Bulky & Oversize items below.
Prepaying Excess Baggage Fees
To save time at the airport, you can pay excess baggage fees for one bag during the booking process, but only for international flights with these conditions:
- Flight tickets must have a ticket number starting with 205
- The itinerary must not include US or Canadian cities
- You cannot prepay baggage fees if your booking:
- Includes codeshare flights-the joint operation of an aircraft by two or more carriers-or flights operated by another airline
- Is for travel within Japan
- Is on a separately printed flight ticket
Checking in Bulky, Oversized and Fragile Items
Oversize Baggage
Bags with total linear dimensions (length + width + height, including wheels and handle) that exceed 80 inches (203 cm) but are less than 115 inches (292 cm) can be checked in provided they can be loaded in the cargo compartment of the aircraft used.
Customers departing for/from Vienna, London Heathrow, Brussels, ,Paris, Phnom Penh, Chennai, Wuhan or Australia (Sydney, Perth) airports
The weight of checked baggage is limited to 32 kg per piece. Please make sure that each piece of baggage is packed so that it does not exceed 32 kg.

Notes:
- Please Contact ANA by phone as early as possible to check if your bulky baggage can be checked in.
- In the event that it is impossible to confirm if an item can be transported by airplane before the departure time, the request for transport may be rejected.
High-Value Items
Please do not check in highly valuable items such as cash, jewelry, securities, artwork, antiques and other valuables, as ANA cannot be responsible for damage to or loss of such items.

Fragile Items
Fragile items such as clocks, cameras, personal computers, bottles, and glass products can be checked as long as they meet size and weight requirements.
Considerable care is taken with the handling of baggage, but if fragile items, such as ceramics, glass products, or alcohol, are damaged due to an inherent defect or property, ANA will not be liable. Please do not check in highly fragile items, as ANA cannot be responsible for damage to or loss of such items.

Electronic Devices
Electronic devices (personal computers, cameras, etc.) can be checked in as long as they meet size and weight requirements. Shut down any electronic devices before you place them in checked baggage.
Musical Instruments
Musical instruments, such as guitars and violins, can be checked in as part of your baggage allowance as long as they meet size and weight requirements.
Oversized items whose dimensions are more than 203 cm (80 in.) but not larger than 292 cm (115 in.) can be checked in, but are subject to excess baggage fees.
- These can be checked in as long as they can be loaded into the aircraft's cargo compartment. Please contact ANA as early as possible to determine if your instrument can be checked.
- If it is impossible to confirm if an item can be transported before the departure time, the request may be rejected.
- Items that exceed 292 cm (115 in.) or whose weight exceeds 45 kg (99 lbs.) cannot be checked in. You should contact a cargo carrier.
Bicycles & Other Sporting Equipment
The following Sporting Equipment will be checked in free of charge if the quantity and weight are within a free Checked Baggage allowance of your boarding class.
- Bicycles
- Surfboards
- Golf bags
- Fishing equipment
- Diving equipment
- Rackets
- Ski/snowboarding equipment*
etc.
- * Please note that if skis, poles, snowboards, shoes and other ski equipment are packed individually, an excess charge will apply per piece.
If the free baggage allowance is exceeded, excess baggage fees will apply.
Please note that handling exceeding size (the total linear dimensions) is only different from regular baggage.

- It may not be possible check in large pieces of sporting equipment for some aircraft types due to limited loading space. Please see Restrictions by Aircraft Type above.
- Please contact ANA as early as possible to determine if your equipment can be checked. If it is impossible to confirm before the departure time if an item can be transported, the request may be rejected.
- If a bicycle is not packaged or protected, or the packaging is not suitable or adequate, ANA cannot be responsible for damage.
- Except for electric bicycles, electric vehicles cannot be carried on board or checked in.
