Passing the icy scenery of Kushiro River on the steam locomotive Fuyu-no-Shitsugen Train

The steam locomotive Fuyu-no-Shitsugen Train is a limited-time special train that travels on the JR Senmo Main Line from Kushiro Station to Shibecha Station. Shortly after departing JR Kushiro Station, the train passes over the mid-winter Kushiro River. The foot of the bridge is an ideal photo spot where numerous train fans gather at the time the train passes and eagerly await the perfect timing to release their shutters.

Enjoy the retro cafe car

One car in the five-car layout is a cafe car, which offers refreshments and light meals as well as various limited-edition commemorative goods. More fun awaits during the ride, such as taking photos with the conductor dressed in a retro uniform and receiving different design boarding certificates for each way of the round trip.
