Cupnoodles Museum Osaka Ikeda
Discover the secrets of Cup Noodles popular worldwide
The Cup Noodles Museum is located in Ikeda City, Osaka Prefecture, which is the birthplace of instant ramen noodles. The museum introduces stories on the birth of instant ramen and history of its advancements. The Instant Noodles Tunnel near the entrance displays Nissin's product lineup from the past and present, with an astonishing 800 packages covering the inner side of the tunnel.
Recreation of the “work shed" where instant noodles were developed
The world's first instant noodle, Chicken Ramen, was created in 1958 by Momofuku Ando, the founder of Nissin Food Products. The work shed where Ando devoted himself to research for a year without a day’s rest is faithfully reproduced. The message conveyed is that you do not need any special equipment to do something great; if you have an idea, anyone has a chance to create a world-changing invention with just ordinary tools.
Make your own original Cup Noodles
My CUPNOODLES Factory is a very popular attraction in the Cupnoodles Museum, where you can make your very own Cup Noodles. Create your own design for the cup, choose one out of four types of soup, choose four out of 12 ingredients, and your original Cup Noodles is ready! There are 5,460 combinations of ingredients and soup, sure to make you want to come back over and over again. It is an attraction visitors of all ages can enjoy.
Exhibit of Cup Noodles from around the world
Instant ramen was born in Japan as the product Chicken Ramen, and this seed eventually bloomed into a global food phenomenon that is consumed as much as 100 billion servings a year worldwide. A large world map on the wall shows the total annual consumption of Cup Noodles by country with red Cup Noodles signs. Cup Noodles from all over the world, made to suit each country's climate and taste, are also on display showing their popularity across the globe.
