Airport Wheelchair
- Q:I cannot walk a long distance due to my age. Is it possible to borrow a wheelchair at the airport?

- A:Yes. Wheelchairs are available for use at the airport. Please request at the check in counter. For more information, please read “Customers with Walking Disabilities”.
Electric Wheelchair
- Q:I have an electric wheelchair. Can I check in my electric wheelchair?
- A:Yes, you can check in your wheelchair free of charge. Please let us know the size, weight, and type of battery. For more information, please read “Customers with Walking Disabilities”.
Canes and Crutches
- Q:Can I bring canes and crutches on board?
- A:Yes, you can bring canes and crutches on board (except for ones with a sharp end).
Please stow your cane under your seat. Cabin attendants will stow your crutches in the closet during flight.
Oxygen Cylinders
- Q:Can I get an oxygen supply inside the cabin?

- A:Medical oxygen cylinders are allowed on board (Other than flights to/from the U.S.). Rentals are also available (fee applies). Medical certificate is required to use medical oxygen cylinders on board. For more details, check Customers with Medical Requirements.
CPAP
- Q:I have Sleep Apnea Syndrome. Can I use CPAP (*) on board?
- A:Please contact ANA Disability Desk in advance to confirm if your CPAP is eligible to carry on or to use in cabin. Please inform us your CPAP's manufacturer, product name, model number, size, and the type of battery.
The usage of electric power outlet of your seat may be allowed to use only with ANA pre-approved products.

*: CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) is equipment to treat Sleep Apnea Syndrome.
Medical Equipment
- Q:Can I use breathing apparatus or other medical equipments on board?

- A:Please contact ANA Disability Desk in advance to confirm your equipment can be used. Please provide the manufacturer, product name, model number, size, and the type of battery. Medical equipments are not allowed to connect to the electric power outlet of your seat for it may not provide a steady stream of power. For more information see “Customers with Medical Requirements”
Insulin Syringes ・Epinephrine Autoinjector
- Q:Can I bring my insulin syringes (injection needle) or Epinephrine Autoinjector on board?
- A:Yes, you can bring personal insulin syringes and medicine.

Cardiac Pacemakers
- Q:I wear a cardiac pacemaker. Is there any special advice for me?
- A:There is no need to inform us of these conditions in advance. However, please inform the security agent at the security checkpoint that you have a pacemaker. Check “Cardiac Pacemakers or Metal Implants Inside the Body” for more information.
Metal Implants Inside the Body
- Q:I have metal implant in my leg. Is there any special advice for me?
- A:There is no need to inform us of these conditions in advance. However, please inform the security agent at the security checkpoint that you have implants.

Ostomates
- Q:I have an Ostomate. Can I bring scissors onboard?
- A:Even for medical purposes, scissors are considered to be a restricted item and not allowed to bring on board. Please prepare it cut in advance.
Asthma
- Q:I have asthma. Is there something I should be aware of?
- A:It will depend on how severe your condition is so we ask you consult your physician. You may bring your inhaler on board. The inflight environment may affect your health.

Artificial Dialysis (CAPD, HD)
- Q:Can I do my peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) on board?
- A:There are some airports with a clinic but no special facility for dialysis. Please ask the airport directly or make other preparations. We do not recommend doing a dialysis on board because of the concentrated air and small space. Consult your doctor and contact the ANA Disability Desk in advance.
Disease, etc.
- Q:Is my child suffering from the disease allowed to fly?

- A:For those who has contagious disease listed in the education safety laws and within the restrain period from flying. Should your physician determine you are no longer contagious, you will be allowed to fly so please consult your doctor. We may ask for a medical certificate issued from your doctor. “MEDIF / Guide for the Physician” for more information.
Influenza, etc.
- Q:I am suffering from influenza. Am I allowed to fly?
- A:For those who has contagious disease listed in the education safety laws and within the restrain period from flying. Should your physician determine you are no longer contagious, you will be allowed to fly so please consult your doctor. We may ask for a medical certificate issued from your doctor. “MEDIF / Guide for the Physician” for more information.
Panic Disorder
- Q:Can I fly with a panic disorder?
A:There are many things that could trigger and result in panic attacks (insecurity, fear, palpitations, trouble breathing, hyperventilation, vertigo). Consult your physician to see if you are fit to fly and what to do should you have a panic attack while on board. Make sure to carry effective medication. If you are unable to take the medicine yourself, we suggest that you have an accompany with you. We can also arrange your seating so please let us know when you make your reservation.
Medical Supplies
- Q:Can I bring medication on board?
- A:Yes you may. Please bring something that shows what the medication is (a label, prescription, medical certificate, etc). Consult the embassy of your destination country to make sure you can bring medication into the country. In the cabin, we are not able to keep in the refrigerator or keep warm your medication for our galley is not equipped to keep it sterile and at its right temperature. Please ask your pharmacist or doctor how to best keep your medication.
Having Trouble Keeping the Seating Position
- Q:I have trouble sitting upright, can I fly?

- A:You must be seated with an upright position with your seat belt fastened during take-off and landing. Rental assistive belts or seats are available for free of charge. You may also bring your own assistive equipments. Please see “Upper Body Holding Aid Equipment” for more information.
You may lay down on the seats next you after the seat belt sign is turned off, however, if you need to use additional seat, advance purchase is required. Please consult us in advance. If you require lay-down position for the entire flight including take-off and landing phase, a stretcher is available. For more information, please see "Stretcher".
Expectant Mothers
- Q:Is there anything I should know about flying while pregnant?
- A:We ask you bring a doctors certificate if you are travelling within 28 days of your due date. For more information, see “-Expectant mothers- ( Japan domestic flights / International flights)” .
If above condition does not apply to you, you should have no problems flying, however, please be aware of the cabin environment and the time you fly. Consult your physician to make sure you are fit to fly. For the environment on board, see “Safety Information / Tips for a Comfortable Flight”.
Infants
- Q:Is my sick baby allowed on board?
- A:Please consult us about your baby's condition prior to boarding. Should you need an incubator or other medical equipment, please ask the ANA Disability Desk. Also, please see “Customers with Medical Requirements” for more information.
Peanut Allergies
- Q:Do you have Peanut Allergies?
- A:ANA strives not to select or use peanuts as an ingredient for in-flight meals and drinks of ANA-operated Domestic and International flights (*1). However, there is a possibility that the meals and drinks may contain peanuts or peanut-by products (such as peanut oil) during preparation or manufacturing.

Airfare discount for the Physically Disabled (Japan Domestic Flights)
- Q:Am I applicable for discount fare for disability passengers?
- A:Discounts fare for Disability passengers applies only to those who holds a physical disability certificate booklet Type 1 or 2 issued by Japanese government. Type 1 allows a discount to be applied to the booklet holder and his/her escort (one person only), while with Type 2 a discount is applied only to the booklet holder. The discounts are also available for those who have an intellectual disability booklet. Please see " Discount fares for the Disabled" for more information.
- Q:Can I book a discount ticket for physically disabled person online?
- A:Yes (from Japan site only). After confirm with the seat availability, please click "Other Fares" and select "Disability Discount" for purchase.
- Q:Is the discount rate applied to the caretakers of small kids (aged 3 -12) who are physically disabled person of Type 1?
- A:Yes. The child fare will apply to the child with a disability, and discount fare to the caretaker.
- Q:Is the discount rate applied to the caretaker of infants under 2 years of age who are physically disabled person of Type 1?
- A:No, because no fare is charged for infants.
