When you reach Temple No. 37 on the Shikoku Pilgrimage, look up. Iwamoto-ji Temple is renowned for its ceiling of 575 vibrant paintings donated by people all over Japan. Spend a night in temple lodging and enjoy a view of the grounds and rooftop sauna.

From the hilltop Hanta-ji Temple behold a panoramic view of Matsuyama Castle and the Seto Inland Sea. Explore the peaceful temple grounds with a statue of the Buddhist deity Kangiten and the stone pillar memorializing the 10,000 pilgrims before you.
