Ponshukan Sake Museum

Ponshukan Sake Museum of Echigo

The Ponshukan Sake Museum is inside Echigo-Yuzawa Station. Here, you can enjoy famous Niigata products such as sake and rice to your heart’s content at sake tasting sessions and the souvenir stands.

At the sake-tasting corner, "Koshinomuro", you can sample close to 100 varieties of sake from all of Echigo’s breweries. The sake-tasting machine is lined with a variety of sakes - choose the brand you want to try, insert money to turn it on, and push the button to pour delicious local sake. A wide range of salts are also available to enjoy your sake along with.

The day spa "Sakeburo Yunosawa" features sake-bath hot springs, which will make your skin silky smooth. You can only find such diverse ways to enjoy sake in Niigata - it’s not all about drinking! People with a low alcohol tolerance and children can also bathe without issue.

At "Yukinto", you can take out giant onigiri rice balls made with koshihikari rice produced in Minamiuonuma. You can enjoy both the delicious flavor of the rice balls and the sight of the chefs’ powerful performances! Don’t miss out!
