Miho Shrine

Miho Shrine, where gods from ancient myths dwell, stands in Matsue, Shimane Prefecture, a quaint fishing town. It's easily reachable from Sakaiminato in Tottori Prefecture.

Miho Shrine, the Shrine Located in Mihonoseki

Miho Shrine is located in Mihonoseki, a fishing village in the eastern tip of the Shimane Peninsula. The small town has a retro atmosphere and can be easily reached from the Sakaiminato Port area.

One of the gods enshrined here is "Ebisu-sama", the deity of fishermen, thriving business, music and dance. Since he is the god of music and dance, the treasure hall contains almost 900 musical instruments donated to the shrine from all over the country. The collection includes Japan's oldest music box and accordion, and it has been designated as one of Japan's Important Tangible Folk Cultural Properties.
