Wonderful encounters with animals await you
Located on the temperate Kii Peninsula in Shirahama, Wakayama Prefecture, Adventure World is a theme park that combines a zoo, safari park and an aquarium. Around 1,400 animals of 140 species from land, sea and sky live here. Famous for the popular pandas, there are also various animals in their natural habitat in the Safari World, and the aquarium showcases high-quality dolphin and whale shows every day. Under the theme of "Future creation park with a smile in the heart," Adventure Park has not only successfully bred rare animals but also takes efforts for their protection as well as research activities.

Giant panda family
Adventure World is home to a large family of giant pandas, the highest breeding count in Japan. Watch the adorable pandas play freely and eat bamboo at their own leisurely pace. A popular feature here is that you can see the pandas living outdoors instead of through the glass. Making use of the warm climate and natural environment of Shirahama, the park has succeeded in breeding and nursing numerous pandas, including many that have left for China.

Safari World
At Safari World, you can see various land animals as they live in nature, including gentle-eyed herbivores such as elephants and giraffes, and powerful carnivores such as lions and bears. Take a ride on the Kenya Train that slowly goes around Safari World, and experience the Walking Safari to get even closer to the animals. You can also explore by cycling or riding on a special cart (fees apply), and feel as if you are in the middle of a prairie with wild animals.

Marine World
Be amazed as the dolphins and whales showcase their speed and agility in the Marine Live Smiles show at Marine World. Give a big round of applause for the dolphins jumping out of the water and performing in harmony with the trainers. The aquarium also offers many other attractions such as up-and-close interaction time with dolphins, the Animal Action performance by sea lions and seals, as well as the Penguin Kingdom where about 450 penguins of eight species live, including the world's largest emperor penguin. If you're lucky, you might be able to meet a newborn penguin.
