Koshu-shi Katsunuma Budounooka
Enjoy Japan's greatest grape-producing area: Budounooka facility in Koshu, Yamanashi Prefecture
Located on the high ground of Koshu City, a famed grape-producing area, the Budounooka facility offers a superb view of the extensive vineyards, which were recognized as a Japan Heritage site. In addition to tasting over 200 types of wine, the facility includes restaurants, a spa for day trips and accommodations. Kashiosan Daizen-ji Temple nicknamed Grape Temple
Daizen-ji Temple in Koshu, Yamanashi Prefecture, which is surrounded by vineyards, enshrines a one-of-a-kind seated image of Yakushi Nyorai (Medicine Master and King of Lapis Lazuli Light) holding grapes in his hand. The Yakushi Hall where the Yakushi Nyorai is enshrined is a national treasure constructed more than 730 years ago. Steams of visitors come when the hall is open to the public once every five years. Wine and grape juice are available in some cases.
