Help yourself to bowls of rice topped with plenty of fish from Sakaiminato at Yamayoshitei. Only a fishmonger could prepare seafood on rice this delicious! Yamayoshitei is located in the fresh food market next to Hiezu’s AEON Mall. This is a popular store for bowls of seafood over rice, loved by both the local people and tourists visiting from other prefectures.
The "Yamayoshi-don" is a popular dish at Yamayoshitei, featuring swordtip squid, sea urchin, salmon roe, and marinated tuna over rice.
There’s so much seafood that you can’t see the rice below and it looks like it’s going to overflow from the bowl. Once you try it, you’ll be coming back for more.
Next to Yamayoshitei is Yamayoshi Kaisan, which sells fresh seafood caught in Sakaiminato.

Yamayoshitei developed “Zukedon-no-Moto” to allow people to enjoy the store’s popular dish of seafood in an original marinade over rice in their own homes. Fresh fish is marinated in Yamayoshi’s secret sauce and aged inside vacuum packs to preserve its delicious flavor. Just put it on rice, and you can eat it right away. It has received good reviews for use as a present.
