What is the seatbelt sign for? |
In the event of an emergency stop or evasive maneuvers during takeoff and landing, passengers not suitably restrained can be thrown out of their seats with the strong force toward the front. During flight, the aircraft may pass through an unstable air current which is often unpredictable. For these reasons, the seatbelt sign is turned on during takeoff and landing, also when turbulence is anticipated. |
Can I unbuckle my seatbelt when the seatbelt sign is turned off? |
Because not all turbulence is foreseeable, we recommend that you keep your seatbelt fastened whenever you are in your seat, even when the seatbelt sign is off. When you rest with your blanket on your lap, please wear your seatbelt over the blanket so that the cabin attendants can check if your seatbelt is fastened. |
How can I put on my seatbelt properly? |
Please make sure your seatbelt is secured tightly and low across the hips. When returning your seat to the upright position, please be sure to tighten up your seatbelt. |
