Tokyo July 24, 2013 ANA, Japans largest airline group, is to increase capacity on two of its Asian routes. It will increase the number of flights it operates between Tokyo-Narita, and Yangon airport in Myanmar, to seven flights per week, from three. As a result, there will be a daily service on this route from September 30th, 2013. In addition, seat capacity for the route will be increased by replacing the B737-700ER aircraft with the B767-300ER. ANA will also be increasing seat capacity for flights between Tokyo-Narita, and Chengdu, China, from October 1st, 2013. Both Myanmar and Chengdu are destinations where strong economic growth is expected. By expanding capacity on both these routes, ANA aims to capitalize on the projected increase in demand for both direct and indirect flights between Japan and Asia and between North America and Asia. ANA was among the first airlines to launch direct services between Japan and Myanmar, a country referred to as the last frontier in Asia. By increasing capacity on this route ANA will help to establish stronger links with Myanmar and build closer ties between both countries. Tickets sales and reservations for the increased flights will begin on July 25th, 2013. Flight details are included in the tables below. Details are subject to approval of the relevant authorities. |
