Main suggestions received

  • The selection and use of high-quality SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) and carbon credits will contribute to the sustainability of the entire supply chain and have a positive impact on biodiversity.
  • Attention must be paid not only to the effects of reducing CO2 emissions, but also to the trade-offs between the impacts of these efforts on nature and human rights.
  • It is important to analyze and recognize issues that cannot be resolved by the ANA Group alone, such as cases in which air transport operations directly depend on or have an impact on biodiversity (e.g., prevention of the spread of invasive alien species, prevention of illegal wildlife trade, reduction of food loss and waste, etc.), as well as cases in which the ANA Group indirectly depends on or has an impact on biodiversity (e.g., effects of aircraft noise on ecosystems around airports).
Early adoption of the TNFD recommendations and disclosure of information in line with the recommendations provide an opportunity to enhance corporate value.
The ANA Group's efforts to revitalize local economies and promotion of sustainable tourism are unique activities in the airline industry that can contribute to biodiversity conservation.

The ANA Group will use the knowledge gained through this dialogue to identify, evaluate, and disclose the dependence and impact of its business on biodiversity, as well as the associated risks and opportunities, and to contribute to being nature positive in the future.
