Cherry Blossom Tree Planting Activity

Washington, D.C. Office

ANA Group has sponsored the National Cherry Blossom Festival (NCBF) in Washington, D.C. every spring since 2017. As part of the sponsorship, we continue to donate cherry tree saplings and conduct tree planting at local schools in order to contribute to the friendship between Japan and the United States. In 2022, together with the NCBF, we resumed the planting which was paused due to the pandemic, visited 4 high schools and a college and donated 30 cherry trees. This year, we planted 30 more at Dulles International Airport and local high schools, making the total number of donated cherry tree saplings to be 143.

Donation of in-flight blankets, clothing, etc.

ANA Germany Office, Frankfurt Airport

Since 2013, ANA Frankfurt Airport Office has collaborated with ALS - the local laundry contractor, to donate and ship used in-flight blankets, cabin wear, employee uniforms, and essential items to refugee camps and facilities across Europe. Reflecting our ongoing commitment to making a positive impact in the communities we operate in, donation boxes are regularly being set up, gathering clothing and daily necessities from our dedicated airport and branch office staff. These items are donated to local social institutions and in 2022 also to Ukraine.

Aviation Classes

The ANA Group holds interactive aviation classes in Japanese schools in various countries, where experienced ANA professionals introduce the intricacies of the airline industry and aviation. This initiative seeks to enhance engagement within local communities by fostering the curiosity about aviation among children. While providing an opportunity to think about their future, these classes aspire to make a meaningful contribution to the developmental growth of young minds.

Aviation Classroom at Mumbai branch in India

Holy Cross High School is located right next to Mumbai airport.
Despite being so close to the airport and airplanes, the students rarely get a chance to use air travel.
We held the ANA Aviation Classroom with the hope that it would be a chance for such students to learn about the importance of teamwork through understanding the work of the skies and thinking about their futures.
In addition to lectures by ANA staff in India, pilots and cabin attendants also participated online to convey the true appeal of the work of the skies.
