Information

  • Even when completing check-in online or at a self-service check-in machine, passengers using certain routes must bring the documentation and other items stipulated in the entry conditions for the country in question to a check-in counter for confirmation afterwards.

    Please go to a staffed check-in counter at the airport to receive your boarding pass.

  • As of June 24th, Online Check-In service for domestic flights is available on Domestic ANA Website.

    Customers who reserve domestic flights with international ticket need to check-in on this Website.

    (Some cases may not be able to Online Check-In.Please check in at the airport counter.)

  • Automatic check-in 24 hours prior to departure is no longer available as of October 27, 2019.

What is Online Check-in?

Online check-in is a service that allows passengers who have reserved seats and registered the required information in advance to enjoy a smooth airport procedures.

  • This service may be unavailable for some passengers traveling with infants or on certain routes. Please refer to the information on eligible passengers and routes for details.

  • Online check-in may not be available in some cases even if you have registered the required information in advance. In this instance, you will receive an email advising you complete check-in at the airport.

Usage Procedures

STEP 1 How to Check in

  • At least 24 hours prior to departure: When Registering Required Information in Advance

    Search for your reservation information and then enter your passport details/email address and reserve your seat on the reservation details screen. You will receive a check-in notification email 24 hours prior to the departure time of your international flight. Passengers flying to/from the USA must also register their immigration information.

      Please reserve your seat at least 48 hours prior to the departure of your international flight. If you miss the 48-hour cut-off time, you will be able to reserve your seat on the online check-in screen from 24 hours up to 75 minutes prior to departure.

    • *

      This service may be unavailable for some passengers traveling with infants or on certain routes. Please refer to the information on eligible passengers and routes for details.

  • From 24 hours up to 75 minutes prior to departure: When Checking In by Yourself Wherever You Are

    Search for your reservation information, enter your passport details and reserve your seat on the online check-in screen, and then check in. Passengers flying to/from the USA must also register their immigration information.

  • Notes on Upgrades

    Passengers Who Have Upgraded

    Check-in will be available for the higher boarding class.

    Passengers Waitlisted for an Upgrade

    Passengers who are upgraded by the departure date can check in for the higher boarding class, whereas those not upgraded will be checked in for the boarding class on their purchased ticket.
    Please check availability at the airport counter, as seats may be available on the departure date.

    Passengers Wishing to Use Upgrade Points on the Departure Date

    Upgrades will be available if the required conditions are met (e.g., if seats/meals are available in the higher boarding class). Please inquire at the airport counter on the departure date.
    Please note that conditions apply when using Upgrade Points on the departure date. We recommend that upgrades be reserved in advance whenever possible.

      If you have upgraded from Economy Class or Premium Economy to Business Class on a flight from London/Paris to Japan and have an itinerary subject to the Air Passenger Duty (UK) or Air Passenger Solidarity Tax (France), you must complete the necessary procedures at the check-in counter even when checking in online.

STEP 2 Prepare Your Boarding Pass

How to Obtain Your Boarding Pass

After checking in online, please obtain your boarding pass using one of the following methods. The types of boarding pass that can be used will differ by departure airport.

  • Mobile Device (Mobile Boarding Pass)

    You can board by displaying the 2D barcode on your mobile device. (This cannot be printed out.)

    Obtain via Email The mobile boarding pass will be sent to your registered email address. Please use the mobile boarding pass image in the email (or alternatively download it from the URL provided).

    Obtain via Wallet You can register your mobile boarding pass by utilizing the iPhone (iOS 9.0 and above) Wallet application by Apple.

    Points to Note

    • Upon presenting the mobile boarding pass, the barcode may be difficult to scan if the backlight is turned off or the screen is covered by a protective film.

    • Please display the screen that shows both the 2D barcode and flight/passenger information. You may be unable to go through if you only display the 2D barcode.

    • Settings on some devices may result in the small display of the 2D barcode.

      In this instance, it may not be possible to scan the 2D barcode, and airport staff may ask you to change the size or other relevant settings.

  • Printing Out

    Print out your boarding pass and bring it with you on the departure date.

    Points to Note When Printing

    The 2D barcode must be printed on your boarding pass.

  • Obtain at the Airport

    After online check-in, please obtain your boarding pass at least 60 minutes before your flight departs. You can do this using a self-service check-in machine (at certain airports) or at a baggage drop counter.
    If connecting from a Japan domestic flight to an international flight, please obtain your boarding pass at least 30 minutes before the departure time for your domestic flight.

Types of Boarding Pass Accepted by Each Airport

The types of boarding pass that can be used will differ by departure airport. Please check this information before you travel.

  • *

    Passengers connecting from an ANA Group-operated international flight to a non-ANA Group flight cannot obtain boarding passes at the connecting airport, even if through check-in is complete. Please print out your boarding pass in advance, or obtain it on the departure date at the departure airport for your ANA Group-operated flight.

  • Departures from Japan

    Mobile and printed boarding passes can be used at all airports that are served by ANA international flights.

    At Mexico City International Airport, only printed boarding passes can be used. Please be aware that you cannot use mobile boarding passes at these airports.

  • Departures from Europe and Russia

    Passengers can use either a mobile or printed boarding pass at London, Brussels, Vienna, Paris, Frankfurt, Munich, Dusseldorf, Milan and Stockholm airports.

    Only printed boarding passes can be used at Vladivostok International Airport, so please keep in mind that mobile boarding passes will not be permitted at this airport.

  • Departures from East Asia/South Asia/Southeast Asia/Oceania

    Both mobile and printed boarding passes can be used at the airports below. Beijing, Shanghai (Pudong), Hangzhou, Hong Kong*1, Taipei (Taoyuan, Songshan), Seoul (Incheon), Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Sydney, Perth.

      Passengers with a printed or mobile boarding pass who are using the ferry transfer service for cities in the Pearl River Delta should get their ferry boarding passes from the ANA counter in the SkyPier ferry terminal.
