Kyusuikei Valley

Save to List

A ravine with hairpin curves

Kyusuikei is a ravine with sheer cliffs spanning around two kilometers on both banks of the Kusu River basin.

This ravine is a popular spot for viewing spring greenery and autumn foliage. It is also nicknamed "13 Curves" for its series of hairpin curves. Visitors can see the changing scenery of the virgin forest—including Japanese Fir, Japanese Hemlock, and Japanese Judas trees—throughout all four seasons.

Many tourists visit in the autumn foliage season to view the gorgeous red and yellow colors of the Japanese Fir, Japanese Hemlock, maple trees, and ginkgo trees in the virgin forest. You can also enjoy panoramic views of the ravine from the observation deck on the ridge.
