George Nakashima Memorial Gallery
George Nakashima who made furniture through “dialogue” with tree. When surrounded by his work, somehow it felt as we were in the forest. Since 1964, Sakura Seisakusho recognized his technique and set up a memorial hall to share his philosophy.
There are about 60 items in this place, including a precious chair that he made in early days when he was an architect and a desk that he used on his studio. This is the only place that world can see George Nakashima’s work besides New Hope Studio in the United States.
