AURORA the Abashiri sightseeing icebreaker

The sightseeing icebreaker makes its way through floating ice across the frozen Sea of Okhotsk which impresses as a vast piece of white land. Feel the shock when the bow hits the ice. You may spot wild animals like seals or sea eagles.

Kaminoko Pond

A beautiful pond formed by water which springs out from the bottom of Lake Mashu and shrouded in mysterious cobalt blue. The water is so clear that fallen trees at the pond bottom are visible.

Lake Mashu

Meaning the "lake of the God" in the Ainu language, Lake Mashu is a place full of mystery and is one of the clearest lakes in the world. It boasts an exotic color coined the "Mashu blue". A lookout is built to provide a panoramic view of the blue lake.
