Fukuchiyama Castle
This castle has been selected as one of the "Top 100 Historical Parks in Japan" and "Scenic Assets of Kyoto Prefecture" for its gorgeous building standing on a base, which was created using different kinds of natural stones and retains the original appearance. Inside the castle tower is a museum with an observatory on the top floor offering a spectacular view of the city.

Amanohashidate
Amanohashidate is recognized as one of Japan's top three scenic views. From the Amanohashidate View Land amusement park on top of a hill, you can see approximately 5,000 pine trees growing on the roughly 3.6-kilometer sand beach, which looks like a dragon flying in heaven. Amazing views can also be enjoyed through walking, cycling, or even cruising on a boat.

Yuhigaura Onsen Kashouen Hanare Kai
Facing the Japan sea, the Kasyouen Hanare Kai is a ryokan inn shaped like a ship. Ine no Funaya
Ine no Funaya, or boathouses lined up along Ine Bay, is one of the top features of a drive in the Sanin Coast Geopark. The typical construction of these houses allows the first floor to be used to store boats with the second floor used as a living area. You can enjoy the panoramic view of the houses that look like they are floating on the sea from a 30-minute cruise offered by a local sea taxi. Chirimen Kaido
Tango chirimen is a type of flat-woven silk crepe produced in the Tango region, which brought great prosperity to the area from the 18th to 20th centuries in particular. The Chirimen Kaido, or silk crepe road, is a designated important preservation district of groups of traditional buildings, which is home to many traditional sites, including the former residence of the Bito family, to showcase the area's amazing history and culture. A guided walking tour is recommended (in Japanese only).

Kurotani washi paper is a tradition that has been protected for 800 years, and is also designated an Intangible Cultural Property by Kyoto Prefecture. At the Kurotani Washi Paper Hall, in addition to washi paper crafts for sale, you'll find papermaking activities (reservations required), and you can also tour the workshop and exhibition room.
