On behalf of the ANA Group, I would like to wish you a Happy New Year.
Thanks to the support of countless travelers and customers, the airline industry has made great strides toward recovery despite unprecedented challenges over the past few years. Domestic and international travel gained momentum last year, and we are looking forward to 2023 with a renewed sense of optimism. On the occasion of the New Year, I would like to express my appreciation for the support ANA has received. To make 2023 an even better year, we have reaffirmed our commitment to global passenger satisfaction while making safety our first priority.
We also received some encouraging news just before the New Year: once again, ANA was certified as a 5-Star Airline by Skytrax, a British rating organization that certifies airlines and airports. We are honored to receive 5 Stars – the highest rating for global airlines – for the 10th consecutive year. While our business environment has greatly changed over the past decade, we maintain our commitment to offering top-tier services for international travelers. This certification recognizes our dedication to our customers, and we are delighted as a Group to receive it. Once again, I would like to express my deep gratitude for everyone’s support.
Along with the certification, ANA received awards in three categories of services from Skytrax, including Best Airline Staff Service in Asia. For us, this feels like winning a gold medal in a team competition along with three gold medals in individual events. Everyone at ANA is deeply grateful knowing that our passenger services continue to be evaluated so highly.
In the airline industry, a single airline can’t dominate just by upgrading aircraft cabins with new gadgets, seats or other equipment – other airlines can easily catch up through the same upgrades. ANA’s approach to hospitality emphasizes trustworthiness, warmth and positive energy in a longstanding company tradition practiced by all employees. Our steadfast commitment can’t simply be imitated by others, and for this reason, accepting these awards is very meaningful to everyone in the ANA Group.
ANA celebrated its 70th anniversary in December 2022. With each passing decade since our founding, the expectations for airlines have evolved alongside dramatic changes in the global community. Nevertheless, we still cherish certain principles. As Kaheita Okazaki, the Company’s second president, said, “Weaving bonds of trust and love makes the world more beautiful.” Firmly adhering to this conviction while valuing our customers and stakeholders, we hope to help build a more beautiful world based on trust and social harmony. ANA has been certified as a 5-Star Airline for 10 consecutive years, but we will not rest on our laurels. We will continue to humbly reflect on our services while striving to be an essential airline for people around the world. Looking ahead to the next 10 years, we will begin 2023 by exploring new ways of satisfying our passengers so that we can continue meeting their expectations.
