1) Terms and Conditions for Upgrade Reservations

Premium Class upgrades can be made via the ANA website or ANA Domestic Reservation and Customer Service Center from two days prior to departure.

Eligible Fares

  • Japan domestic flight fares (including award tickets and the ANA Mileage Club Companion Fare)

      Excluding passengers with international itineraries and those with a 13-digit ticket number or 6-digit reservation number, open-ended tickets without a reservation, and the following fares:

      (Group fares, inclusive tour discount fares)

    Terms of Use

    • All customers included in the reservation must be ANA Mileage Club members.

    • All customers included in reservation must be upgraded.

    • An Economy Class ticket must have already been reserved and purchased for the flight on which you wish to upgrade, and Premium Class seats must also be available at the time of upgrade.

    • Payment must be made at the same time the upgrade reservation is made.

    Changes After Upgrading

    • An upgrade ticket that is only valid for the upgraded flight will be issued upon payment of the upgrade fee.

    • The upgrade ticket cannot be used for other flights even on the same sector.

2) Upgrade Fees

The fee will vary depending on the flight sector and request date.
Please see the links below for the upgrade fees. When upgrading with Upgrade Points, four points will be required regardless of the flight sector and request date.

  • For Child Fare, ANA Card Holder's Discount Fare, Shareholder's Benefit Discount, Shareholder's Benefit Discount (Child), Disability Discount, and Biz, the difference between the fare and the relevant Premium Class fare will be payable.

  • For ANA FLEX, either the difference between the current fare and Premium Fare or the advance upgrade fee will apply, whichever is less.

  • If you wish to upgrade an ANA FLEX reservation that includes a child or is a child-only reservation using a credit card as your payment method, please go to "Change Reservation" a select Premium Fare to make the change.

【When Upgrading】
  • An upgrade request cannot be made if all customers within the reservation are non-ANA Mileage Club members.

  • Please note that, due to aircraft changes or changes in the number of reservations, meals may not be available even if you have reserved them.
    In such cases, staff at the airport will inform you on the day. Thank you for your understanding.

    • Making an Upgrade Request as a Newly Enrolled ANA Mileage Club members

      Customers who would like to make an upgrade request after joining the ANA Mileage Club must register their ANA Mileage Club membership number to the reservation for the flight on which they would like to upgrade. Please see the steps to be taken below.

  • If a reservation includes more than one customer at the time of the upgrade request, all customers will be subject to the upgrade. It is not possible for only some customers within the reservation to upgrade.

  • To upgrade an award ticket, ANA Mileage Club Companion Fare ticket or a reservation paid by ANA SKY COINS, the customer whose miles or ANA SKY COINS were used as payment must log into their ANA Mileage Club account and make the upgrade request.

  • Please perform procedures for flight tickets purchased via ANA Biz on the ANA Biz website or the ANA website.

  • Upgrades must be paid by credit card or upgrade points. These payment methods cannot be combined together.

【When Canceling an Upgrade】
  • An upgraded ticket cannot be changed back to Economy Class if it is fully booked.

  • An upgraded ticket cannot be changed to Premium Class on a different flight even if it has a fare permitting reservation changes. Customers must change to Economy Class on their preferred flight and make another upgrade request. The upgrade fee for the original flight will be refunded when the change to Economy Class is made.

  • Refunds can only be handled in the period from the upgrade ticket purchase up to 30 days after the departure date of the reserved flight.

  • Refund charges do not apply for refund requests for upgrade tickets.

【For customers who purchased tickets through a travel agency, or have a Dynamic Package reservation (offered by Tabisaku or other travel agencies)】
  • Customers who have upgraded to Premium Class will not be able to find their seat number on the e-Ticked Itinerary Receipt issued by the relevant travel agency.

  • Customers who would like to cancel and request a refund for a ticket and tour after upgrading to Premium Class must do so through the relevant travel agency and then request a refund for the upgrade ticket separately. To request a refund for an upgrade ticket, search for the relevant upgrade ticket from the Search Upgrade Ticket bar and complete the refund request procedure.
