Hotel Okura Niigata is located five minutes by car from Niigata Station, and around 30 minutes by car from Niigata Airport. This hotel is situated in a quiet, relaxed location almost right in the middle of Niigata City along the Shinano River. Guests can enjoy a sense of spaciousness while viewing the Bandai Bridge (an Important Cultural Property) and the Shinano River that enriches the Echigo Plain. Furu-machi, Niigata's old shopping district, and Bandai are within walking distance of the hotel. Toki Messe, an aquarium, and summer swimming areas are also located within five to 10 minutes by car. For that reason, this hotel is a perfect base for either sightseeing or business.

The hotel contains a French restaurant, buffet restaurant, Chinese restaurant, Japanese restaurant, tea lounge, and bar. There, guests can savor the seasonal foods of Niigata, such as Koshi Hikari rice produced locally in Niigata, fresh fish caught in the Sea of Japan, and local Niigata sake.
